Marketing Campaigns at the College of Charleston.

During my time at the College of Charleston, I stayed very involved with on-campus activities. One of these is the Dean’s Student Forum and another the Chinese Club. In both programs marketing and events were my fortes; for each project, I contributed in the most productive way I knew how.

Dean’s Student Forum

The Dean’s Student Forum consists of a select group of students chosen from the School of Business. Students act as liaisons between the Dean and business students at the College of Charleston. This role not only incorporates acting as consultants to the Dean, but also taking on projects to further the development of the School of Business.

7th Annual School of Business Tailgate

As a senior, I became the DSF’s Marketing Project Manager. As Marketing PM one of my assignments was to design the 7th Annual School of Business Tailgate flyer and digital signage. This required collaboration with other teams members to gather flyer information, presenting designs for group critique and submitting a final draft for execution. I was very happy with how the design turned out and the flyer received a lot of attention. That year’s turnout was the highest the Annual School of Business Tailgate had received; around 400 students and faculty.

Chinese Club

As a freshman I took on the responsibility of revamping the Chinese Club and becoming its president. As president, tasks included coordinating monthly meetings and representing the club in other on-campus events. An example would be the Office of Institutional Diversity’s Annual Asian Heritage Month Celebration.

Annual Asian Heritage Month Celebration

The 1st Annual Asian Heritage Month Celebration was a collaborative effort between the Office of Institutional Diversity, Asian Student’s Association and Chinese Club. As president of the Chinese Club, one of my responsibilities was to design the marketing materials for this event. In doing so I focused on promoting CofC’s support of cultural diversity. I created four designs each representing a different culture–Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Indonesian. All four were used either online, in print or on social media to promote the event.  And, even though it was only the first annual celebration, there were still 75+ student and faculty in attendance at the celebration.
